1 Although small in size in comparison to its European neighbors, Switzerland should not be overlooked with its breathtaking mountains, interesting mix of cultures and culinary delights. Surrounded by Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein,

Switzerland has a large German-speaking population to the north (about 66%), a smaller French-speaking area to the west (18%) and an Italian-speaking area to the south (10%).

The majestic Alps, which cover approximately 60% of the country, are famous for climbing, skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking and other fun activities. Swiss cuisine borrows its culinary traditions from German and French cuisines. Some commonly eaten foods are rosti, meat or cheese fondue, and raclette. Switzerland is also known for its production of quality chocolates.
